March 8th, 2026 - A Visit from the Woman at the Well
Today we hear the story of the woman at the well, from her perspective, to show how Jesus meets people in their shame and isolation, truly sees them, and gives them a new identity. Rather than condemning her, he affirms her worth and calls her into purpose. His message is that we are known and loved as we are, and like her, we are sent back into our everyday lives not in shame, but as people who carry light and share that truth with others.

February 22nd, 2026 - Sermon from a Lyft Driver: Temptation of Christ
Todays' sermon reflects on Jesus’s temptation in the wilderness to show that God doesn’t remove our struggles for us - we must face them ourselves. The “voice of God” isn’t always dramatic or external, but something we carry within us, reminding us of our worth. Especially during Lent, we are called to resist distractions and cultural pressures, trust that we are already loved, and respond to doubt by remembering: we know who God is, and we know who we are.

February 15th, 2026 - Sermon on Transfiguration - Light
The Transfiguration is not only about Christ’s glory. It is a mirror showing the hidden light within every human heart. The spiritual life is learning to recognize that interior light — the Nuhra — the image of God already shining within you.

February 8th, 2026 - This is Who You Are
The task of the Christian life is to know what God says about us and believe it. We spend so much time thinking that we are supposed to be becoming the person God wants us to be. Rather, we need to un-forget who we really are. Today, we took time to meditate on what God says about us and knowing that is who we are. December 25th, 2025 - Christmas Eve Homily
On Christmas Eve, we reflect on the joy of tradition and the surprise of seeing the Christmas story with fresh eyes. Through a story from The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, we are reminded that the heart of Christmas is wonderfully simple: Jesus is here—go and see him. In the midst of the season’s bustle, Reverend Lisa's homily invites us to pause at the manger, receive Christ’s light, and carry that love boldly into a world that needs it.

October 19th, 2025 - Pray Always and Do Not Lose Heart
In this week’s sermon from Luke 18:1–8, we explore what it means to “pray always and not lose heart.” When the world feels uncertain and justice seems delayed, how do we keep showing up in faith? Prayer is not about persuading God but learning to live in steady companionship with God—through silence, struggle, and daily life. Drawing on Julian of Norwich, Teresa of Ávila, and the persistence of the widow, Rev. Lisa Ozaeta invites us to rediscover prayer as the rhythm that ste

August 31st, 2025 - The Banquet Table
In this week’s sermon on Luke 14:7–14, we imagine the middle school lunchroom—where everyone knows which tables are safe and which ones will leave you standing alone. Jesus challenges that same instinct in us, calling us to stop measuring worth by status and to see God’s kingdom as an ever-expanding circle of welcome. Together at St. Clare’s, we are learning what it means to set a table where no one is left out and where God’s grace keeps drawing us wider.
