This Sunday at St. Clare’s, the sermon took a different shape. Due to our priest losing her voice, the congregation became the preachers—reading 15 passages that reflect on grief, sorrow, and lament, drawn from Luke 13:31-35.
Together, we explored how both personal and collective grief find their place in our faith, and how God meets us honestly in the wilderness of lament. In a world carrying so much heaviness, these words remind us that we don’t have to hide our sorrow or bear it alone.
Listen and reflect. There’s space here for your grief, too.
(we also had some video/audio issues...you can tell which clips we had to re-record during coffee hour because you will hear the chatter in the background. Even with the bips and bops, we wanted to share this video because it is amazing when we open the word of God together.)
