The Collect for Thanksgiving Day
Almighty and gracious Father, we give you thanks for the fruits of the earth in their season and for the labors of those who harvest them. Make us, we pray, faithful stewards of your great bounty, for the provision of our necessities and the relief of all who are in need, to the glory of your Name; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen. ~Book of Common Prayer p. 246
Blessings to each of you this holiday weekend. Safe travels, happy gatherings, & enough food to nourish our bodies & souls (but hopefully not enough to induce a food coma.
I look forward to our worship on Sunday!
The readings this Sunday can be found here. This Sunday is the final week of the Church year. Advent 1 will start on December 3rd. http://www.lectionarypage.net/YearA_RCL/Pentecost/AProp29_RCL.html
There will be a conversation about gun safety following worship on Sunday, November 26th. The meeting will last about an hour and will be a second time to gather people to discuss this important issue.
The Annual Giving Campaign begins this Sunday. Please make sure you take home a copy of this year’s brochure which highlights all our accomplishments and offers a pledge card to support the mission & ministry at St. Clare’s for 2018. Ingathering Sunday is December 17th.
WHAT ELSE IS NEW
Please keep St. Clare’s search for a new Christian Ed Director in your prayers. We have had some nibbles, but nothing that puts us in position to hire someone.
Another 215 pounds of fresh produce and canned & dry goods were delivered to the Food Bank yesterday. Our total for the year is roughly 750 pounds. Amazing!!!
