This Sunday we celebrate the Feast of Pentecost!
Last weekend we celebrated the Ascension, noting 40 days after Easter (although we moved it from the Thursday before). Today we are at 50 days and recognizing the gift of the Holy Spirit whom Christ left for the faithful. This is often considered the beginning of the Church, or the Church’s birthday and as a kid we always had cupcakes for refreshments on this day and everyone wore white because it used to be (and still is in England) that Pentecost is also called Whitsunday or White-Sunday.
I look forward to worshiping with you this Sunday!
WHAT’S IMPORTANT TO KNOW
