We Grow in God to Serve the Community

What’s New

Our journey through Advent brings us to the final Sunday before Christmas. We will hear a dramatic reading for the Gospel. Come prepared to walk the final steps to Bethlehem. Readings for the day can be found here.

YouthGroupYouth group will meet on December 20 (Advent 4) Questions contact Sheila Strehle or Julia Richman. Julia.richman@gmail.com or sheilastrehle411@hotmail.com

PledgeFormsPledge forms as well as current 2015 giving statements have been collected or mailed out. Please bring your completed for this Sunday for our ingathering prayers.

ChristmasEve5 pm Christmas Eve, December 24th (Thursday evening). We will have our traditional family service with Christmas Carols, family friendly prayers and readings, children’s pageant, Holy Communion, and close with Silent Night by candlelight. Hannah Fairbrook is organizing this year’s pageant. If your children would like to participate, please contact her at fairbrook4@centurylink.net so she has a rough idea of how many “actors” we will have.

On Sunday, December 27th we will have our traditional Christmas Lessons & Carols with Holy Communion at 10 am.

HandsGet your hands in the mix! We’re looking for worship leaders and we have something for everyone! We need additional Acolytes, Eucharistic Ministers, Readers, Ushers, Altar Guild members, Bread bakers, and Contribution Enterers. Please pray about how you might serve St. Clare’s in our worship each week and talk to Patty or Jeff or Sue. The more people who help, the less frequent the commitment. And if you’ve been doing something for a long time and would like to take a break or try something else, let us know that as well.

Sharing our abundance in December!

  • Soup/milk/cookies for Soup Kitchen on December 9th
  • Caroling at Red Oak on December 6th
  • Making and serving a meal for the homeless shelter – Valley Renewal Center – on December 13th & 14th
  • Another barrel filled with food to go to the Snoqualmie Valley Food Bank
  • $375 collected (which was doubled through a gift to ER-D) to buy animals through the Gifts for Life program.
  • $100 donated to Underhill House on Capitol Hill (the Rev. Susan Dean)
  • $141.50 donated to the Snoqualmie Valley Food Bank through the spare change in the bucket collection.

All I can say is “WOW!!!” If you had any part in making any of this happen, please know your offerings of gratitude are much appreciated by many. Thank You!!!
Ministry Sunday Activity
MinistrySundayMany thanks to all who helped put together our meal for the residents of the Valley Renewal Center last Sunday. We made a nutritious chili dinner w/ground beef, super greens salad, cornbread, and cookies & milk. Then we provided hard-boiled eggs, string cheese, satsumas, bagels, & juice for breakfast. It was great fun and special thanks go to Larry & Cindy Remick, Jeff Waters, Jill Jueling, & Mary Fairbrook for serving the dinner on Monday night.  Check out the VRC at the following link for more information. http://www.valleyrenewalcenter.com/.

GiftsForLifeWe have raised $375 so far in our Gifts for Life fund-raiser! What a great start to share our abundance with those who have so little. Episcopal Relief & Development’s Gifts for Life program provides skills, equipment, and animals to helps others become supporting members of their communities and raise them out of the poverty level. As you can see by the graphic, this year all gifts will be matched to create twice the gift. This is a wonderful opportunity for our children to learn about giving. Please share this with them and let’s support them on Sundays.
