I am back from a very valuable National Church clergy workshop in Prescott, Arizona. It was a beautiful setting for working with 28 other priests & deacons throughout the country. Our work included looking carefully at our spiritual, financial, physical, and vocational health. Each of these pieces had pre-conference work plus plenaries, small group time, and personal reflection time for us to renew, recreate, or for some, begin a Rule of Life that allows us to live more fully into God’s blessing and be wiser and stronger pastors to those we serve. It was a good mix of self-care and renewing our commitment to those we care for.
I look forward to worshiping with you this Sunday as we continue our celebration of the Great 50 days of Easter.
Here are the Readings for this Sunday’s worship.
For those who weren’t at church last Sunday, your Bishop’s Committee presented the results of their retreat from April 11th. The areas of focus are: Education (all ages), Outreach, Worship, and Fellowship. Please take a look at the posters that are in the church and pray about where you would like to see your wishes and hopes brought to new life. And talk a member of the Bishop’s Committee for more information. You’ll be hearing much more about these dreams as the weeks unfold. And thanks to all of you who participated in the Appreciative Inquiry process during Lent. The lists of responses to that exercise are in the Social Hall. Take a look at how God has blessed us and share the Good News with your friends. We are too good a thing to keep hidden!!!
Family Church Hike on Sunday, May 3. Come to church dressed for an easy hike & we’ll leave right after church. (The sermon might even be a little shorter so we can get going) Feel free to bring your kids, dogs, friends, and your sack lunch to church that day. We will carpool over and park in the new parking lot at the bottom of Snoqualmie Falls. Here is a link for directions to the lower parking lot: http://www.snoqualmiefalls.com/lower-lot/. For more information, please contact Julie Keller at 206-280-8800 or Julie@datatune.com
Clothes for the Cause Update: We are getting a check for $418 from all the clothes that were donated! Check out the photos attached of what the Youth Room looked like and the loading crew. Hi everyone – I would like to organize an outreach committee so we can start to plan community activities for our group, and start to make our dreams into actions. Please let me know if you are interested in being part of a committee that will meet four-six times a year to plan and coordinate different outreach projects for St. Clare’s. I would like to meet on a Wed. or Thursday evening, for one hour from 6:30 to 7:30. OR we could meet for 30 minutes after church on a Sunday here and there. Please contact me if you are interested, and which day or evening would work best. I would like to have our first meeting soon, and could do May 6th at 6:30 (in the portable) OR May 17th right after church. Let me know which date works and please bring any ideas you might have for our first meeting!!
Thank you, Amy Workman firstname.lastname@example.org or (425) 269-5402

Many thanks to Kelly Stokesbary who has spent some time weeding, cleaning up, and planting our Easter flowers in the beds around church. I’ve attached a photo. If you’d like to help with the work, contact Kelly at email@example.com. I’m sure she’d love some company.
Sign up to bring refreshments for our coffee hour following worship. There is a signup sheet in the Social Hall.
Pasta Night is coming! We will be raising funds to allow as many kids from St. Clare’s to attend Camp Huston this summer as possible. (Check out what Camp Huston is all about here, and pick up a brochure on the table in the Social Hall.) Put May 31st on the Calendar for the dinner & watch for more details soon.
